Why are we paying for Wall Street's crimes?

Not sure why you started talking about California and Texas, but the reason we're having to pay for all of Wall Street's crime is because those Wall Street have all been appointed to positions of power in the government. It's hard to punish those Wall Street firms when the same people that work there are now in the treasury department all willing and anxious to bail them out.
