Why does my touchpad is not working? Omg! Help?

My mom is using may laptop when i was on school. Then when i came home she's panicking and screaming like "WTH is happening on the laptop!!??!?! Why is the "mouse" not working?!?!" Lol. She calls the touchpad a mouse. Soooo, i tried it and its not working. I already checked the control pannel and the mouse setting. The touchpad is enabled... What;s the problem ????
